It’s More Than A Competition-
Gem State is honored to offer the first and only annual Idaho based ballet competition. We invite dancers from various backgrounds and skill levels to participate and showcase their passion, technique and artistry. Our competition experience has been designed specifically to support the dancer on their journey.
How are we different?
In alignment with our mission, Gem State Ballet Competition creates a positive environment for dancers to learn and grow. We are also committed to working as partners with Idaho companies, studios and academies, supporting our local dance community and avoiding conflicts of interest. Dancers will have the opportunity to get feedback from the judges during rehearsal to better prepare for the scored performance. This format provides insight to the dancer, directing them on how to improve their overall presentation. Our competition creates opportunities for dancers to earn scholarships as well as stipends to further their training and experience.
How does competition serve the dancer?
Competitions provide dancers with clear goals and deadlines. Many students experience exponential growth during these seasons of analysis and consistent feedback from coaches. The additional performance opportunity teaches the dancer to adapt in high pressure settings and be versatile while working in varying conditions.
